Code of Conduct

With the Code of Conduct, the company declares its commitment to its compliance responsibilities, its societal and social responsibilities, and the principles of fair competition. The company’s actions are founded on universally applicable ethical values and principles, and especially on integrity, honesty, respect for human dignity, and non-discrimination.

I. Compliance

1. Compliance with the law
In all business activities and decisions, the company undertakes to comply with the applicable laws and other relevant regulations of the countries in which it operates. Business partners are to be treated fairly. Contracts are complied with, taking account of changes in the framework conditions.

2. Dealing with exceptional situations and escalations
In case of a (potential) serious incident with critical repercussions for the company, the company stands prepared for the purposes of investigation and damage mitigation. The escalation process leads to the resolution of (potential) non-compliance situations that have already occurred or to prevent those that may occur. This means that such activities are to be made transparent and must be presented to a competent authority in a timely manner so that regulatory decisions can be made. In the event of a complaint or evidence of an eventual violation of the Code of Conduct employees may contact their direct superior or the managing directors. In legitimate cases, there will be no negative repercussions for the person reporting a (potential) incident of this kind. False accusations will result in action being taken against the accuser.

II. Principle of societal and social responsibility

1. Human rights
The company respects and supports the observance of internationally recognised human rights.

2. Prohibition of discrimination
In accordance with the relevant laws, the company rejects all forms of discrimination and stands for equality of opportunity and tolerance. This relates in particular to discrimination against employees based on race, ethnic origin, gender, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual identity. Within the scope of their personal qualifications, all employees are afforded equal opportunities in terms of recruitment and their further personal development at the company.

3. Conditions of employment; prohibition of forced and child labour
The company respects its employees’ rights to freedom of association and assembly in accordance with the relevant laws. The company adheres to employment standards with respect to the maximum permissible working hours and remuneration, and especially in relation to the level of remuneration, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations. Employees are to be protected against corporal punishment and against physical, sexual, psychological and verbal harassment. Employees’ privacy is respected. The company complies with the rules on the prohibition of child labour and especially the Convention concerning Minimum Age for Admission to Employment.
